1. Rough milling. In rough milling should be based on the workpiece surface to be processed to give the margin, with an end milling cutter according to the contour of the surface layer by layer for milling, this rough milling is highly efficient. The rough milling surface is similar to terraced field, the height of the steps depends on the rough milling accuracy.

2. Semi-finish milling. Semi-finishing milling is the purpose of milling off the rough milling "terraced" steps, so that the appearance of the processed surface is closer to the theoretical surface, the choice of ball end milling cutter for finishing process generally leave 0.5mm or so of the machining allowance, semi-finishing line spacing and step spacing can be larger than the finishing process.

7. In the mold cavity milling, according to the roughness of the processed appearance should be appropriate to grasp the amount of repair file. On the milling of more difficult parts, if the roughness of the processed appearance is poor, should be appropriate to leave some repair filing allowance; and on the plane, right-angle grooves and other simple processing parts, should try to reduce the roughness value of the processed appearance, cut down the amount of filing work, to prevent the large area of filing and affect the accuracy of the surface of the cavity.
